One thing I have to say is Rob is very adept at finding cool routes to take as we traverse this great nation of ours. We started our day with a big breakfast at the Waffle Palace and quick stop at K-mart for supplies. I needed sox, shorts and video tape. I also got a Kentucky roadmap shirt. One of only two t-shirts I purchased the whole trip, the other was from Rude Rick’s Custom Choppers when we had the flat. I used to get a HD shirt from every state or dealer we hit but now I tend to just get a shirt when it ties into a real memorable event, like riding in Kentucky and the day we met Rude Rick in Oklahoma.
Fueled up and ready to rock we hit 58 and shot into Virginia. We came across and old covered bridge and took some pictures and continued on to 19 up through Bluefield West Virginia, billed as the tallest city in said state. Up 219 for a while and then I-64 back into Virginia we stayed in the interstate all the way to Staunton just outside of Waynesboro. We decided to call it a short day and clean up, stretch out, relax and have a grand dinner. We all order mega steaks at this high end steakhouse and we all sent them back. Big let down. We went to bed early for tomorrow we are hitting the Skyline drive at dawn. Yea right. Oh crap I have to empty the cameras and charge everything.
