Up early and ready to rock Rob, Bill, Diamond, Joe and I ran across the Texas pan handle via I-40 into Oklahoma. Shortly after we hit the road a bird that looks like a roadrunner skydives into Robs Fairing and impales itself on his highway bar. Yes there are pictures but tread lightly it ain't pretty. About a hundred into Oaklahoma on 152 surrounded by nothing...Flat!Image

Diamonds Road king was immobile and we were surrounded by hundreds of miles of farm. Like a scene out of a movie the local Deputy Sheriff rolls up. Deputy Loftiss was a great guy very helpful and a great sense of humor. He contacted Rude Ricks Custom Cycles in Mt. View some 40 miles east. At least it was the right direction.  After all was said and done we were taking pictures and marveling at the fact that the bill was only $150.00 and that was with three t-shirts and the tow and fixing a rear flat on a dressed bike! Rick said you’re just not used to getting your moneys worth.

Interestingly it came up that someone from New York passed through town needed help and never made good on his bill. It turned out Rob knew the guy and squared the bill. Rob said he would get it from the guy and Rick said Rob restored his faith in humanity. On the road 3 hours behind schedule if there really was such a thing. We road hard across Oklahoma and packed it in at 513 miles somewhere around Wister, at the A-OK Motel.  There are more pictures in gallery.
