Wow the weekend is over already. It was quick but full. Saturday I was all over. First on the air in the AM and then over to Miracle Mile Harley-Davidson's open house where Bourbon Stills and the Perfect Angels kept the crowd happy. Then out to the Hampton’s to a Gala for Tommy Hilfiger.
He was receiving a humanitarian award for his help with Katrina and the Red Cross. Mr. Hilfiger donated over 300,000 dollars and over 20,000 garments to the disaster services unit of the American Red Cross during Hurricane Katrina. Tommy's brother Andrew Hilfiger performed at the gala with his classic rock group the X Brothers in their Hampton’s debut. Hilfiger performed along side Joe Bouchard, formerly of Blue Oyster Cult and Jimmy Cacala. This sold out event was hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Rome, owners of the largest charter jet company in the world Blue Star Jets, at their beautiful estate. Man I love Long Island the diversity is amazing.
Well one might think all this would be reason enough to attend this thing and it was but I had another motive. Tommy rides and I want to interview him for the show. While talking to him Black Tie International Magazine asks if they can take picture (see below) we said sure posed and Tommy was gone. Let’s just say the seed has been planted. At the end of the party some attendees headed into a garden with these 20 foot hedges I'm telling you this place was awesome. Along the wall of hedges were little white tents almost like fine fishnet canopies. There were four of them and each one had a couch a chair and a coffee table all white with one suspended red oriental paper lamp. It was a cool effect. Leave it to Tony at PTG entertainment to do it right.
Anyway at one of these tents a crowd was gathering watching and listening to music. It was Tommy and a few guys playing guitar and a cowbell. Then a bass amp showed up and a guy plugged in and started thumping all of the sudden drums and symbols and everyone is singing LA Woman and Honkey Tonk Woman and a variety of people sang out of key without a mike and people laughed and partied. The video is hilarious. Anyway cross your fingers that Tommy will do the interview I would love to check out his collection with you.
The ride home was sweet with the nice cool summer air flowing over me I couldn't help but think this was a great day and feel grateful as I looked up into the night sky and said Thanks. Sunday I was sweating my ass off mowing the lawn and doing chores lol. In the Wind, Fingers
