This week I would like to talk about an on going argument about what’s better, gas grilling or charcoal grilling. I’ve seen this feud go down at many a party, mix in some booze and the scene will resemble...
the fight scene from the outsiders. Of course both grills have it’s pros and cons, and it’s your preference that will decide what you use. A charcoal grill has superior flavor to gas which alone can make the difference for some. Also charcoal burns hotter which makes for better searing and check marks. A downside to charcoal is inconsistent heat and the amount of time it takes to start. On the plus side, it’s always fun to bring out the 13 year old pyro in each of us, so if time is not an issue try charcoal. Gas is by far the most convenient, I can have my grill up to full temp in five minutes. So for me sometimes if I have multiple things going at once gas is my choice. I hope that cleared some things up and if you have the money get one of each. Burger 1/2 lb chopped, crisp cooked bacon 1/2 lg onion diced 1 cup cheddar cheese - shredded 3 lbs ground beef Salt and pepper This is simple just mix and form into 6 patties then grill. As you no there are many variations. I like to cut the ground beef by half and make up the rest with ground sirloin. Also try adding peppers, different cheeses, BBQ sauce or hot sauce, pickles or whatever the hell you feel like.
