ImageAs March 2006 is coming to a close it certainly appears to be going out like a lion. There is so much going on musically right now, tours getting underway, albums coming out and summer shows about to be announced.
One show finishing its run is...

The Allman Brothers Band stay at the Beacon Theatre. 2006 saw an amazing array of guest performers with the band on a nightly basis. They were joined onstage by Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Peter Frampton, Susan Tedeschi, Hubert Sumlin, The Asbury Juke Horns, Robert Randolph, John Hammond, Bruce Willis, Jimmy Vivino, Leslie West, Corky Laing, Taj Mahal, Ben Harper and Robben Ford. This was the first year they ever had so many guests and at least one at each show.

When it comes to shows about to hit town we need only look to April for three very special performances. Brothers Chris and Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes embark on their "Brothers Of A Feather Tour". These shows will all be acoustic shows featuring the two brothers alone playing their own material as well as select covers. The tour begins in New York with three separate shows, April 13th at Warsaw in Brooklyn, April 14th at Rose Theater at Lincoln Center and April 15th at Town Hall. All the shows will be recorded for possible future release.

Upcoming album releases include Queensryche's sequel to "Operation Mind Crime" simply called "Operation Mind Crime II". The album will feature a few guests including Ronnie James Dio as Dr. X. The album wont be out until April 4th but the entire album is available to be streamed at www.Rhino.com . Joe Satriani has a new album out in stores for a little over a week now called "Super Colossal". Other albums on the way include projects by Pearl Jam, Los Lonely Boys, Bruce Springsteen and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

All these artists will be heading out on the road in support of their new albums. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining Lollapalooza 2006. The other package tour to watch this year will be Ozzfest hitting Randall's Island on July 29th. This years line up includes Ozzy Osbourne, System of a Down, Disturbed, Lacuna Coil, Hatebreed, Black Label Society, and a mystery band who is not Metallica but who will be announced on May 23rd.

There will of course be many shows to catch come Summer at the seasonal venues such as The Tommy Hilfiger at Jones Beach Theatre and The Brookhaven Amphitheatre. With all the tours already underway and so many new albums about to be released we have plenty to keep us busy until the Summer tours are all announced.
