Monument Valley

I got up early to get some breakfast and make some time but when I walked out of my room and looked to my left I realized this hotel was on the edge of the canyons and the view was awesome. I banged down a meal and hit the road. I went to monument valley a vast and beautiful place on the border of Arizona and Utah. This is the actual location for many of the old John Wayne westerns.

So I could shoot for Albuquerque tomorrow morning. I was doing great on time. Gobbling up miles until I got to the freakin Hoover Dam

I quickly gobbled up the California freeways to the desert and man it was hot. I stopped for gas around Death Valley the only stop for many miles. The gas was $3.71 a gallon for regular and that’s all they had. As I filled up I noticed a breeze kick up some dust on the gas station driveway and it quickly turned into a dust devil which is kind of like a mini tornado, it was so cool, it grew
